Welcome to the United Nations Joint Programme e-Newsletter

Our quarterly newsletter provides our programme partners and the general public with detailed information on the progress of the Joint Programme. 

The Joint programme is a unique effort to provide better opportunities for women and girls in Turkey by building service capacity for local governments and enhancing collaboration between NGOs and government authorities.

 


Students visit Ankara


The winners of the essay competition on the theme of “Women-friendly cities” were invited to Ankara by the United Nations Joint Programme. The students had the chance to visit UN House, Atatürk’s mausoleum Anıtkabir, Atatürk Farm and Zoo, the, Ankara Citadel, Atakule Tower, Middle East Technical University, Turkish Intelligence Foundation and the historic Ankara Palas Hotel.  The group, coming from the six cities where the UNJP is being implemented, got to know one another in these touristic excursions, and the trips they enjoyed to Ankara’s major shopping centers and a movie theater.
